Color Picker

Whether you are matching a brand colour, decoding a screenshot, or just chasing the perfect shade, the question is the same: what is this colour, and what is its code? The picker lets you choose any colour visually and read it back in every common format.

How to use it

  1. Drag inside the saturation/brightness field and along the hue slider — or type a value directly.
  2. Copy the colour as HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV or CMYK with a single click.
  3. Browse the tint and shade variations to find a lighter or darker relative.
  4. Check the built-in harmonies for colours that pair well with your pick.
  5. Use the contrast and colour-blindness panels to confirm it is accessible.

Good to know

  • HSB (a.k.a. HSV) is great for picking: change brightness without losing the hue you chose.
  • Recently picked colours are kept in your history, so you can always step back.
Related: convert to any other format in the Converter, expand a scheme in Harmonies, or verify a pair in the Contrast Checker.
